Gain hands-on experience with the Forest Economics and Research team at JPMorgan Natural Capital , formerly known as Campbell Global, a JPMorganChase company. If you are passionate about economics, natural resources, and data-driven decision-making, this opportunity will allow you to apply your academic knowledge while working alongside industry professionals on meaningful projects.

As a 2027 Forest Economics and Research Intern within JPMorgan Natural Capital, you will support economic research initiatives that inform timberland investment decisions and business strategy. You will collaborate with professionals across multiple functions, develop analytical skills, and contribute to projects focused on forest economics, market analysis, investment research, and emerging environmental markets. This program is designed to provide a fixed-term, full-time experience beginning in June 2027 for up to 10 weeks.

Job responsibilities

• Support economic research projects related to timberland investments, forest products markets, and natural resource assets
• Analyze economic, financial, and market data to support investment decisions and strategic initiatives
• Develop and maintain datasets, models, and analytical tools to support ongoing research efforts
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define project objectives, research methodologies, and deliverables
• Present findings and recommendations through written reports, visualizations, and presentations
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on forest economics, market trends, and investment opportunities
• Engage with cross-functional teams to gain exposure to timberland management, acquisitions, ESG initiatives, and portfolio management activities
• Monitor economic indicators, commodity markets, and industry developments relevant to timberland investing
• Manage project timelines and provide regular progress updates to internship leadership

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Bachelor's degree in Forest Management, Economics, Business Administration, Natural Resources, Environmental Economics, or a related field
• Currently pursuing a Master's or PhD degree in Forest Economics, Applied Economics, Forest Management, Natural Resource Economics, or a related discipline
• Demonstrated interest in quantitative analysis and economic research
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets
• Ability to communicate technical concepts and analytical findings clearly through written, verbal, and visual formats
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

• Coursework or research experience in macroeconomics, microeconomics, forest economics, or natural resource economics
• Interest in timberland investments, forest finance, carbon markets, or environmental markets
• Experience using data analysis tools such as SQL, R, Python, or similar software
• Experience working with large datasets, statistical analysis, or economic modeling
• Ability to build effective working relationships across diverse teams and stakeholders
• Proficiency with AI-powered productivity and research tools, with the ability to apply them responsibly to support analysis, communication, and problem-solving

Your exact office location maybe within proximity to one of our main hubs. This will be communicated to you prior to your start date.

Cohort Start Date: June 2027

• You must be able to report to your designated office location on your start date.
• Relocation assistance is not offered for this role.
