Join JPMorgan's Treasury and Chief Investment Office and make a real impact. This position sits in the Balance Sheet and Macro Research (BSMR) team, which reports to the Head of Rates and Research within Treasury/Chief Investment Office. This team is responsible for providing thought leadership on system balance sheet dynamics and macro topics for senior management in JPM Treasury.

As a Senior Associate in the Balance Sheet and Macro Research (BSMR) team within Treasury/Chief Investment Office, you will be responsible for performing high quality analyses, communicating them clearly and concisely to senior management, and maintaining a research library. In this role you will work closely with senior management and the investment portfolio and can help inform balance sheet management decisions. To be successful, you must be curious about economics and the financial system, self-motivated, and an excellent communicator. 

Job Responsibilities

• Synthesize third-party research and, where appropriate, original analysis to provide senior stakeholders with concise written and verbal reports on macro topics, for example: alternative data sources, fiscal sustainability, demographics, and the labor market
• Curate a repository of high-value internal and external research
• Analyze data and maintain dashboards. Develop and maintain metrics and dashboards to track key macro themes, using AI to expedite processes
• Dig into economic data releases as needed to understand methodology and the granular details of releases, working independently to frame the nuance
• Communicate any key findings or results quickly and concisely to management
  

Required Qualifications, Skills, And Capabilities

• Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
• Self-starter with flexibility to pivot between topics
• Excellent critical reasoning and intellectual curiosity
• 2 years of experience related to economics and/or the financial system
• Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
• Strong academic background
  

Preferred Qualifications, Skills, And Capabilities

• Degree in economics or related field preferred 
• Experience using AI to speed up analysis and coding
• Familiarity with tools such as Excel, Python, Bloomberg, Haver, or similar data platforms
