Job Description and Duties

Under administrative direction of the Executive Officer, the Deputy Executive Officer serves as a member of the executive team with primary responsibility for Conservancy operations, implementation of programs, development and implementation of policies, and oversight and management of staff.

Special Requirements

Employment History on the STD 678 (State Application) must be complete and include employment dates, accurate hours per week, total time worked, duties and responsibilities performed, and contact names and phone numbers of supervisors. License and Certification numbers included on the STD 678 must include issue date and expiration date. Failure to indicate issue and expiration dates will result in disqualification. Resumes or other documents cannot substitute the STD 678 (State Application). Applicants who fail to submit a completed STD 678 (State Application) may be disqualified. Only the most qualified candidates will be invited to an interview.

Applicants who completed their education outside of the United States (with foreign degrees/transcripts) must obtain and submit verification of US course/degree equivalency. Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

• 5 years of managerial experience managing or leading a full range of administrative and program implementation functions to carry out an organization’s mission.
• Experience developing or executing strategic planning, organizational development, benchmarking, and performance management.
• Experience at the managerial level collaborating with a variety of internal and/or external advisory bodies and policymaking groups on issues of a high profile and/or politically sensitive nature.
• Experience at the managerial level in developing, implementing, and evaluating technical and operational policies and procedures and conferring with and advising State departments and agencies on such policies and procedures.
• Experience working closely with the control agencies, legislative staff, department directors, and other executives to achieve an organization's budget, policy, and program goals.
