Salary: $102,000 - 142,000 per year Requirements:

• We need at least 6 years of experience working on projects that implemented solutions using development life cycles such as SDLC.
• We need at least 4 years of experience in a technical leadership role, with or without direct reports.
• We require a bachelors degree in Computer Science, CIS, or a related field, plus at least 10 years of experience in software development or a related area; equivalent work experience may be considered in place of the degree.

• We drive multiple workstreams by assessing customer and operational needs, updating policies and procedures, securing cross-functional alignment, translating strategy into actionable requirements, allocating resources, setting standards, tracking progress, removing obstacles, and resolving highly complex issues.
• We model self-leadership and support the growth of others through feedback, collaboration, mentoring, coaching, open communication, and adaptability.
• We provide guidance and expert recommendations for complex technical solutions that satisfy design and functional needs.
• We collaborate with architects and software consultants to turn functional specifications into flexible, scalable, and maintainable solution designs.
• We deliver technical expertise for the development, configuration, and modification of integrated business and enterprise application solutions across different computing environments.
• We translate business requirements and functional specifications into program designs, code modules, stable systems, and software solutions in partnership with business analysts and other team members.
• We build and sustain trusted relationships with internal customers, vendors, and senior leaders to keep stakeholders aligned and engaged.
• We oversee the review and implementation of technical recommendations across multiple functions.
• We ensure interfaces, methods, parameters, procedures, and functions support the technical solution and align with architectural intent.
• We define data management strategy within an established information architecture, including secure information structures, storage, sharing, and publishing.
• We set database technology strategy and provide specialist expertise in database management tools, architectures, software, and facilities.
• We support project teams throughout the release cycle as a technical expert.
• We guide incident response for complex system issues.
• We partner with IT teams and vendors to ensure code follows our architectural standards, design patterns, and technical specifications.
• We stay current on industry trends by attending conferences and building our professional network.
• We lead consultation efforts to ensure new and existing software solutions reflect industry best practices, strategies, and architectures.
• We provide expert advice on software engineering topics, including market trends and new applications.
• We review and validate resource estimates for complex design, coding, and testing work.
• We act as an escalation point for unresolved requirements translation issues.
• We use DevOps, Waterfall, and Agile practices to design, develop, and deliver resilient, secure, high-volume, cloud-based solutions.

We are hiring a Principal Engineer, Databricks / Analytics for a flexible role based in Greensboro, NC, with in-office presence required at least part of each week. This is a hands-on senior individual-contributor position where we will rely on you to strengthen the security, resilience, operations, and self-service capabilities of our data and AI platform for sensitive health information. You will act as a technical authority for how the platform is run, secured, and evolved, while partnering with internal stakeholders on catalog and schema design, data curation, and data governance. We are looking for someone who wants to help scale a secure, well-managed platform that supports mission-critical work.
