Job Description and Duties

This position will be filled in our Sacramento or Long Beach Office.

Working under the supervision of the Environmental Program Manager I (Supervisory) of the Climate Adaptation and Special Initiatives (CASI) Unit and exercising a high degree of independence, the incumbent is responsible for independently conducting and managing the most complex and difficult environmental analyses and studies on projects and programs of the California State Lands Commission. The incumbent provides critical science-based technical and policy expertise related to the Commission's climate change, coastal resiliency, and special initiative activities. The incumbent is responsible for identifying scientific challenges and opportunities, developing appropriate courses of action, and making recommendations to the Environmental Program Manager and Division Chief to continually improve the Commission's responsiveness to emerging scientific issues based on the best-available science. The incumbent shall follow the principles outlined in the vision, mission, and inclusion statements of the Commission.

• Posted salaries do not reflect the 2 - 4.62% pay reduction in exchange for 3.5 – 8 hours per month of leave arising from the Personal Leave Program 2025. Information related to salary reductions is available in  Section 2113of the CalHR Human Resources Manual.
