Furniture Repair Technician

We’re looking for a skilled Furniture Repair Technician to provide high-quality repairs for customers in their homes, showrooms, and warehouse. This hands-on role combines furniture repair, upholstery, carpentry, leather repair, color matching, and mechanical troubleshooting with a strong focus on customer service.
What You’ll Do
• Inspect furniture for damage, defects, and wear
• Complete furniture repairs using proper tools, materials, and techniques
• Perform upholstery repairs, including structural and mechanism replacement
• Repair and troubleshoot furniture electronics, motors, and switches
• Match colors, fabrics, finishes, and textures
• Perform leather repairs using patches, dyes, and fillers
• Complete case good repairs when qualified
• Troubleshoot repair issues and determine the best solution
• Drive a company service vehicle to customer homes for repairs and assessments
• Communicate professionally with customers and store/warehouse teams
• Explain repair status, recommendations, and timelines
• Document repairs accurately and identify items that cannot be repaired
• Maintain clean and safe work areas, vehicles, customer homes, and warehouse spaces
• Follow quality standards and vendor specifications
What We’re Looking For
• Hands-on furniture repair experience required
• Upholstery repair experience strongly preferred
• Carpentry, leather repair, color matching, and furniture mechanism experience a plus
• Proficiency with hand and power tools
• Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to troubleshoot problems and work independently
• Strong organization and time management skills
• Positive, professional, team-oriented attitude
• Comfortable learning new systems and using tablets/mobile technology
• Valid driver’s license and ability to safely operate a company service van
• Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and motor vehicle record review
Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift and move furniture weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, reaching, and climbing stairs
• Ability to safely use tools and equipment
• Comfortable working in warehouses, showrooms, and customer homes
• May encounter noise, dust, temperature variations, and other environmental conditions
