Job Description

This role focuses on assembling and packing finished metal and plastic fabricated parts and cabling components used in conveyor systems. Working under limited supervision, you contribute directly to the production process and may perform final inspection and testing to ensure product quality. Electrical and machine assemblers in this environment collaborate closely with design engineering and project teams to build electrical panels, test and troubleshoot equipment, perform field wiring, and assist with machine power-ups.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble metal and plastic fabricated parts according to production requirements and quality standards.
  • Pack finished parts and cabling components securely for shipment and installation in conveyor systems.
  • Use hand and power tools safely and effectively for assembly, fastening, measuring, and adjustment tasks.
  • Work from blueprints, production prints, and work instructions to complete assemblies accurately.
  • Perform basic inspection of parts and assemblies to verify quality, fit, and function.
  • Measure and mark materials using tape measures and other tools to ensure precise assembly.
  • Operate within an assembly line or production environment to meet daily output and schedule targets.
  • Assist with electrical panel building, including component installation and wiring, as needed.
  • Support testing and troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical assemblies to identify and resolve issues.
  • Participate in machine power-ups and field wiring activities under guidance from engineering and project teams.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to ensure smooth production flow.
Essential Skills
  • Experience with mechanical assembly in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency using hand tools and power tools for assembly and fabrication tasks.
  • Ability to work from blueprints or production prints to complete assemblies accurately.
  • Basic measurement skills, including confident use of tape measures and related tools.
  • Attention to detail when inspecting parts, assemblies, and packaging for quality and accuracy.
  • Capability to perform repetitive tasks on an assembly line while maintaining quality and productivity.
  • Strong commitment to safety practices when working with tools, equipment, and materials.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Ability to read and interpret production prints is a plus.
  • Experience with electrical panel assembly, wiring, or machine building is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with packaging processes in a manufacturing or production setting.
  • Comfort working in a team-oriented environment where collaboration is important.

Work Environment

This position is based in a manufacturing facility with a mid-sized team of approximately 100 employees. Typical attire includes jeans, a shirt, and steel-toed boots, reflecting the practical nature of the work. Shifts are structured, with a first shift from 7:00am to 3:30pm (Monday through Friday) and a second shift from 3:00pm to 1:00am (Monday through Thursday), providing clear and consistent working hours.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cannon Falls, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
