The LPN will provide compassionate mental health care to patients in psychiatric units, behavioral health centers, and mental health facilities . This role requires strong communication skills, crisis intervention abilities, and experience in behavioral health nursing .
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to individuals with mental health conditions.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor vital signs, behavioral changes, and mental status .
- Assist in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.
- Support individual and group therapy sessions as needed.
- Educate patients and families on mental health management and coping strategies .
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records .
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, RNs, and other mental health professionals .
- Travel to various psychiatric and behavioral health facilities as needed.
Qualifications
- Education: Completion of an accredited LPN program .
- License: Active LPN license in the state of assignment or compact license.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in psychiatric or behavioral health nursing preferred.
- Skills: Strong communication, observation, and crisis intervention skills.
- Certifications: BLS certification required; CPI or other crisis prevention certification preferred.
- Travel Readiness: Willingness to take on travel assignments .
